Default Cellshield LVC Problem....

I have a stock Slash with the Waterproof XL-5 ESC, when I connect my Lipo 2S 3200 20C Batt.....the wheels jump...meaning that it gets a split second of power to motor and makes the truck lurch forward. Is my cellshield bad? It is brand new, but could it be defective or I am doing something wrong...I did follow directions and it is hooked up properly..............???

Yeah, it does it with the LVC installed and Lipo.....I actually tested the LVC with NiMH and and too does the same thing. But take the LVC out and no problems!!!

But, I went to the biggest LHS in my area (Fredrick) and worked with some guys there (3 of them) we tried every LVC they had and none of them worked correctly. We than called Traxxas, but they couldn't understand why it wasn't working. The guy on the phone said that the electronics "should" be the same. But it is apparent that they aren't.

Needless to say I was going to buy a regular XL-5 and the guy told me that the Tazer 15T ESC worked pretty good and would work with Lipo LVC's so I got it for $30.

I am going to replace the ESC today and give it a shot, but I'll keep my old XL-5 for stock spec racing.

So, word to all those with Slashes......go NiMH!

Or, take your chances with Lipo

Yeah, I sent an email to Traxxas to find out more about this unusual problem. I also wrote Dimension (makers of the Cellshield) for any input there....I'll let ya'll know..........

Word about the Tazer is...GREAT!!!

But I guess I'm looking for VXL next......Lipos and VXL...great combo!
