Default Intellect Lipos

Hi All,

I just got 2 intellect 4000mAh 20C lipo stick packs (model number CS2S4000V1). The batteries did not come at any recomended charging settings.

I assume that they are 2 cell batteries (as my TrackPower charger won't charge them at any other setting). I'm currently charging them at a cautious rate of 1.5 amps.

I looked at the intellect web site, but they didn't even list any lipo packs.
What is the cell count and recomended charge rate for these batteries?
Can anyone steer me in the right dirrection?

Thanks.

Well, I don't own one of Intellect's packs, but pretty much any 7.4 volt LiPo you can treat as a 2 cell pack(as far as setting a charger, that is), & from what I've been told & read(as well as my own experience with my LiPos), you can easily charge them at what's called a 1 C rate, which is 1 amp per 1000mah of the pack's capacity. So with that 4000mah pack of yours, you should be able to charge it at 4 amps without any trouble at all. Just make sure the charger uses the CC/CV charge method(which is the charger starting at a constant current, & then when the pack's voltage reaches 8.4, it'll start lowering the current, to keep the voltage at 8.4, till the charge rate drops to 0, that's the proper way to charge any LiPo & what almost all LiPo friendly chargers use by default).....

Thanks for that.
I've been woundering what the 1C charging method was all about - good info.

Well, they charged just fine on 1.5 amps, I'll crank it up to 3 next time (that's what I charge my trackpowers at, and they're 3200Mah).

All I have to do now is get a balancing harness for the Intellect's.

Cheers for the info
