hi, would like to check if anyone is using lipo battery pack for their starter box (1/10 or 1/8th scale) ? 
sorry, think this has been discuss before i think, but couldn't find the thread
am interested in the huge weight savings but heard it's not too safe or good to use for starter box ??? don't know how true is this..
anyone can share their experience ? ... thanks in advance

i just recently switched from gel-----2 stick packs-----lipo here. the lipo is by far the best way to go, a little more expensive but a better choice for power and convience. yes it lighter, but the only problem you will have is the simple fact that you HAVE TO UNPLUG YOUR BATTERY AFTER YOU USE IT! otherwise you will drain the battery and make it discharge to an unstable voltage. other then that....its pretty cool to know that your battery is held in by velcro and ways only a couple ounces!

No worries about a fire while in use. Lipo batteries will only catch fire if improperly charged. I have only seen one problem and a guy was charging with his charger set for ni-mh at 6 amps. The battery did not catch fire but it swelled like a balloon.

With a season of use does anybody have a report on success or failure of using Li-Po batteries in starter boxes.

used mine all season long and had no issues at all just have to keep on top of it and make sure you store the battery properly and make sure to balance the pack the night before and it will last all day long .

Used an HT Batteries 14.8 starter box lipo last year. No problems at all. Motor didn't burn up, battery didn't swell or fail, whether breaking a motor in or during a 3 day race event. That is the one battery I rarely have to worry about. It definitely makes the box lighter, which is easier to lug to the pit lane. I'd recommend one
