Micro Class???

Hey Racers...
You may remember me, may not, but im easing my way back into the hobby slowly.
I was just wondering is there any MIcro classes running and where?
If they are, is it worth it?
Let me know.
And hey to the guys on here that remember me from the Hurstville days.
Cheers

Any fans of initial D on here????
Just wondering!!

I think only HPI champ has the Micro class racing. What i think is that is a good car for fun, but not worth to invest for racing. Since you may have to spend a lot on the option. Also there were only 3 races of the HPI champ. How long have you been racing in Hurstville?

Hey.
Yeah good point. I have just bought a Micro. The only mod i have bought is the HPI Modified motor and the ProLine "Big Block" motor. The Big block is pretty damn big and just fits into the car. The motor kit comes with a new motor plate to allow the motor to fit. I have found that the only pinion that fits is the largest one and that gives it pretty good top speed. I can only imagine what a real tight technical track would be like to race on. Ive only had my Micro for a few weeks and their pretty good to race in your spare time. I would like to see some sorta class or even some of the racers getting into it between heats or something. But i guess that would cause problems with frequency clashes. I dont know but i reckon that it could be fun...
I guess only time will tell.
Racing at Hurstville... well it closed down a while ago that track, and i tell you it was heaps of fun. I raced there since it started and right till when it finished. Really good times that have their memories. I know that there are many people on these boards that experienced that.
Anyways i hope somebody gets into the micro thing.
Cheers

I take it you're up in Sydney...?

Dropped in at TFTR (Templestowe, VIC) yesterday and was most
amused to see a MicroRS4 leading the pack in Mini class... lapped
a few and won the final too.

... t'was like watching a bunch of pussies chasing a mouse!

Yeah im in Sydney.
That would've been a mad race to watch...
There should be a Hybrid class....Mini/Micro
I reckon that would be fair, and fun to watch.

Aparently, some guy in the US had fitted an 8 turn Mod motor to the micro and using a slot car pinion has managed to get it upto 30mph. Damn quick for a Micro. But unfortunatly was uncontrollable.
Imagine.....Micro Mod.
That would be a sight
cheers

Yeah i can imagine that it looks trick!
My FD is finished, with the lightset and exhaust.
Ive done it up to match Keisuke from the Redsuns off Initial D.
Its looks nice, with a custom wing made from scrap Polycarbonate. The light set is awesome cause the HPI Set has the super bright Led's but their the prism ones so you get that Blue "hue" around the main beam. Ala Projector lights.
They look awesome!
I was gonna buy a Mini Z f1 a while ago, but im glad i didnt!
Cant wait to get the FD drifting. Aparently there is a drift kit you can buy which comes with tires, springs and the like to get it set up for drifting, but i like the heatshrink idea better!
Dooooooooriftoooooooo!!!

30mph micro with an 8 turn modified is slow!!

I had a 14 turn modified motor in my micro and we clocked it at 60mph! I can show you some photos of it if you are interested.

The car was also controllable. I ran it at SoCal raceway in California and it ran very well.

If any of you need micro parts let me know.

I also sell performance tuned Big Block motors. The motor is called the Krystal-3. It is a new motor that we have which is being released this Friday. That motor alone on six cells will accelerate your micros to over 30mph.
