can you charge 4s lipos with a ice charger ?

From Tower's page on it:
Handles 1-10 NiCd or NiMH cells, and 1-4 Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) or Lithium Polymer (LiPo) cells

So yes it will.

No problem. I actually went to verify on mine since I never use that setting. Descriptions have been known to be wrong.

Yes you can, but you probably should use a balancer. As cells go up the chances of imbalance mayhem goes up too. And offhand I'm not aware of anyone making matched 4s lipos. At least keep tabs on the individual cell voltages.

I was on the fence between buying the ICE or the Team Checkpoint TC-1030 Racing Charger because I have to use NiCd or NiMH for stock and plan to get LiPo's down the road. I'm not up to speed on the battery terminology just yet but it appears the ICE will do every thing I need and for $50 less than the TC-1030. From the description the TC has an extra charge method (3-step) and 3 motor break-in modes but I'm just getting my feet wet again so the ICE should do all I need and more.
