Has anyone had a chance to use this balancer yet? I have the Orioin Platinum lipos and was wondering how well it worked.

Thanks!

I pick up this balancer on Saturday for my ORION 3200 and 4800. I used it both in standalone and charge-thru modes with my Advantage Charger and had no problems with it "balancing" the packs. The hobby store owner I purchased it at told me that if I try to balance a pack that is fully charged it could give me a "false" balance, however I have yet to experience it as neither of my packs were peaked before I put the balancer on them.

I did not notice a difference in performance from my packs after balancing, but it's good to know that I can keep the cells in shape if I need to.

Thanks Majicman...

I will have to pick one of these up. This it the only balancer I have come across with the correct 'mini-bullet' type connector.

I hope it works well for you. As an FYI, this balancer is a rebadged Great Planes Equinox(sp) balancer. If you decide to go with a different brand of hard cased lipo (TRINITY, MAXAMPS, etc) you can purchase the harness you need from Great Planes to balance any other LIPO's you may have, no need to have a separte balnacer for each style of LIPO.

what exact harness is needed? I have an SMC 5000 pack which uses an Align style balancing tap. I looked on Max Amps and really can't find what I am looking for....

not that you need to balance orion packs often, but that one works off the bat. i have one and use it every other race just to maintain the packs.
