Default Bad servo affect rest of system?

Hey guys,

I just had a throttle servo go bad (had moisture in it). I also had additional problems.

Sometimes, when I would flip the battery switch On. Nothing would happen. No power would go to the Rx/Servos, until I flipped it back and forth a few times.
I also had a run-away. Was driving around and it went Full throttle all by itself and hit a guardrail. No damage from that though

My question is, Could that bad throttle servo have caused these other problems as well?
or do I have another issue with the batt/switch/Rx?
I just want to make sure that after I put a new servo in, its not going to run-away again.

Thanks

I've had a bad servo take up all the power from the system, so the speedo and receiver didn't work even though the light was on at the speedo. Swapped it for a good servo and everything worked well again.

So, I tried it for a little bit last night. Didn't runaway this time. Hopefully it stays this way.

I had an issue with Hitec 645MG servos in my 1/10th electric truck blowing motors and kicking back to my ESC, not once but twice. Unfortunately I'm not enough of a wiring guru to understand why or how a bad motor in a servo goes all the way back through the receiver and smokes the ESC...since then I've switched to Futaba servos (to match with my Futaba ESCs) and problem solved
