I have a number of older Mercury receivers that I used with a JR radio. I confused, will these work with a 3D if I get a single conversion crystal or are they the wrong shift and won't work period.

IF you use single conversion Xtal's you should be fine. The mercury was designed for a futaba plug so it should work. TTYL.
