Yup, saw that, but I'm hoping there's something more recent or a few more people doing tests to back that up. My NiMH discharge stayed up in the 7.2 volt range throughout the prime time of the discharge, but the test in post #35 hovered around 7.0 volts for the duration.

That may be no biggie in mod, where you can make up with it with motor, but in stock that .2 volt is gonna kill ya!

Thats probably true. I would say that if you were running stock class, and was concerned about the .2volts then I would probably buy a higher quality (more expensive) pack. This one has the pcb with cut-off included, so I would think that thats gonna cause some added resistance in the pack, = less output. Just something to consider.

Ok, here's some new plots. Again, all plots were done on a new Turbo 35 GFX LiPo version. My Turbo 35 is a little stingy on MaH but so be it. The 4200 pack in the graph was a moderately well used pack - half way through it's useful life I'd say. The EP4600 pack was brand new straight off the Turbomatcher 8. Lipo 1B was the same as Lipo 1 with the electronics removed. Lipo 3 was just a regular LiPo pack with the electronics still installed but with very good performance - who said all LiPos are created equal? All the LiPo packs are the Trinity LiPro pack. The dip at the beginning of the LiPo discharge curves is a result of cold cells - as they warmed up the voltage rose.

Oh, BTW, All readings were made through a wired Deans connector so that will account for a little voltage drop but it's fairly consistent since all packs were wired the same way.

i dont wish to get off topic here Brad of QuickRC.com but is there any way you can do the same thing for a A123 2200 or 2300 6.6v pack to see how that pack's 30c rate measures up? (i suppose you can use their 6.6v 4600 to get a relevent mAh rating as well). Im just curious to see how they stack up, regardless of lower voltage.

Look @ lipo 3 go! By the looks of the graph, if your going stock class. You may want to stick with NiMh.

Yep - the 4600 packs pack more punch for stock. I race stock (not very well...) and always use an EP4600 or IB4600 for the mains.

I'm afraid I have no A123 packs to test. If I had one I would be happy to test. I'd like to also compare some high-end LiPo packs to see how they measure up but don't want to blow a bunch of cash just for that.

For my own use, I test everything at 35 amps but for packs I am selling I hate to push it so stick with 30 amps - I just do a cycle to make sure the packs are performing properly before selling.

well i dunno maybe you can ask A123racing.com to send you a few 6.6v packs to see how they measure up like...for publicity purposes? I dunno lol.

Thedunemaster from Ebay seems to sell them for half (or more) than a123 does. Might wanna get in touch and have him sell ya a 4600 6.6v pack. I dont see it being over $60 from him. His email is [email protected]
