cutting servo tabs
#1
My TA-05 requires that you trim off one of the servo tabs/ears/mounting holes on one side of the servo. What's the best way to do this without breaking the tab below it? This is what happened to the first servo I put in there... thankfully it was a cheap-o unit that I didn't really care about. I used my sprue cutters, I don't think they were delicate enough.

instead of cutting off the servo ear, try trimming some material off the ta05 chassis. you're using the stock TA05 moulded plastic chassis, right? i did this to my chassis and the servo fit with all 4 ears intact.
its easy to do with a dremel and a file. see where the servo ear will hit the center of the chassis and remove a bit of material there.
but if youre going to race in TCS or a similar series, check with the rules first. i think you are not allowed to do any chassis mods.

It's really not a big deal...that same ear gets trimmed off for lots of cars. It's the same one you trim for a shaft car.
I use flush-cutters (small diagonal cutters that cut flush), then trim it with an x-acto.

Sharp ones will go through plastic like a hot knife through "cutter".
