which spektrum do you have? the first version or the new pro....
first versions the cases were a gray plastic....new pro version the cases are a translucent grayish....you can get the optional cap that plugs into the battery socket on the rx....(its like $6 bucks) the earlier version did have issues w lower voltages...

I ran Spek for awhile and had weird issues too. COme to find out it was a low voltage problem with my batts. Dont know for sure wat ur issue is. Could be a receiver issue.

In this link under Simple Fix for Module "Shut Down" Issue you may find the answer to your problem. The original Spektrum rx's were experinceing static electricity issues. Hope this fixes your problem.

If you've had your receivers for sometime now too you may want to send them in to have the firmware updated as well. It's a free service, just your shipping to send them in.

i bought this spectrum from maddog23 and i started having range issues when i ran in windy conditions and now its not windy and i still have the problem. It runs fine somtimes it sometimes just stop and stay there until i play with the steering or get closer. Im thinking that there is so much static build up that it might be causing the issue correct me if im wrong but i think the capacitor might help. Plus does batteries do anything to them cause mine are awfully close and should i get some 1/3 AAA cells(the tiny generation 1 zipzap batteries) to power the reciver? http://www.laje.se/SE_Michael_IIS-2005.JPG
