Hey all . .
I am running a swift on carpet currently with te M insert betwen the chassis halves. I am quite jealous of all the bodies available for the short chassis mini. Any suggestions on changing my current "M" set up to compensate for the shorter wheelbase? I am a bit hesitant to do this as my mini is quite dialed at the moment, but I would love to be able to run something other than the swift "bend over and give me $35 " body.

How well does the civic body fit the swift??? I ahve heard varied opinions on the fit, but haven't seen one in person.

We see no noticeable difference between the medium and short wheelbase cars on carpet. In fact, all the quickest cars are SWB.

Hi, what's the thickest grease that I can use in my M03 gear diff?

If i said i've seen railway grease (ie full size train grease!) would you believe me?

I prefer either Corally Ball Diff lube, or Kyosho 30000 Diff Grease. The quickest Mini at my local club uses 300000 Silicon Diff Oil, but it does leak a tiny bit from the outdrives.

Tried various industrial and commercial grease's, none do the same job as the above.

One racer swears on water pump lube from days gone by, but we cant find anyone who sells it now.

andrewdoherty - For M03M bodies you may want to check out the HPI mini bodies. I don't know if the M03M is too long for the HPI Minis. Checkout the wheel base. I also found that Phil's Hobby Shop on line has some Tamiya bodies at a more reasonable price. They have the Tamiya M03L body, which I run, for $23.80.

The HPI Mini Cooper shell is for the SWB only. If you can find a Civic or Maita, I believe they're for MWB.

The HPI Civic might be close to fitting. HPI also has a mini body called the Concept 1 which is a Beetle body.

Civic and Miata are the right (225) wheelbase but don't fit.

Like on a lot of other things the body hits the servo mounts on an M03.

You can put the body on but it has to sit real high at the front and it looks crap...

The only 225mm alternative that I know of is the Audi TT from Proline. Only problem being that its been out of production for about 3 years...

The HPI Mini and/or VW Concept are both 210mm, they wont fit.

Solution? Pull out the spacer and run 210mm!

Got a heap of Mini parts in today from overseas, the limited edition uprights, tons of tyres and a 3Racing Ball diff.

Broke the TA03 one on the weekend when fixing it, so see what the 3Racing does.
