+1 on the spare underpants.

Get the 2611 pipe and don't rush the break-in, take your time to do it.

On this engine is vital to know how likes to be carbed. He likes (no... needs) to have a nice LSN adjustment (if you carb it like a Nova will be a dog). Their 'good' LSN adjustment under a Nova carb adjustment is 'too lean' (for a Nova).

It holds nice. Forget your temp gun and adjust it for performance, meanwhile you have a trail of smoke, your monkey will be fine.

What would you suggest as a good starting point for LSN?

Thanks!

Sorry I use it with 16% nitro, so the LSN and HSN adjustments for someone using 25 or 30% are plain wrong.

S12-111100 Sirio .12 Engine High End Housing $29.99
S12-160005 Sirio .12 Engine High End Housing $2.07

thanks for your help!

I don't think the STI or non-STI crankcase is different, I've had both motors but I have never really compared if there is a difference.

The part # for the STI crankcase is s12 111103, it retailed at about $90+.

I would highly doubt that a crankcase for an EVO3 is $29.99 or $2.07

Thank's for the info Dom!
Since Trinity doesn't distribute Sirio anymore, they are clearing all there inventory @ 70% off. I thought to 2.07 was wrong and i was curious about the 29.99. that's why I asked for the Part# so that i could compare Apples to Apples.

Ed, I (believe) actually have a crankcase from my EVO3 non-STI from 2005, it should be in great condition, I put new front bearings in as precautionary but never used that motor again. I ran that motor and won 2005 regional with it and then 3 more club races. PM me and we can chat about whether you want it and pricing.

I also think I have parts avail from that motor except the piston/sleeve, and this is going to be good, I have 1 of the latest revised crank shaft with only 1 race in it! I know guys were looking all over for one of those.

BTW, I'm selling my last year regional winning EVO3 STI motor with matching STI pipe (pipe only used for break-in), check out the classifieds!
