Default Proline foams for 4wd holeshots. Cut or not?

Well I just got some Proline 4wd front Holeshots, but they came with full rear foams. Should I cut these to fit or just try to squeeze the whole foam into the tire? They look as wide as rear foams would be. Is this how they all come out of package?

I sculpt the edge of the foam a bit with a scissors to conform to the inside of the tire. for me it seems that i get less off balance and weird squirm later in the tires life.

I think a lot come like that. If you do stuff them all in, prepare for a twitchy car.

You gotta cut those babies. Way too big for the front tires. Conform/contour the edges too

If I remember correctly, I cut off about 1/4 of an inch in width and then rounded the edges.
Scissors never work for me. I use my sanding drum on my dremel to get nicely rounded corners.
Make sure to round the inside diameter as well.

I use the same width and only chamfer the inner and outer edges.

Thanx for the replies guys. I ended up cutting and trimming. Wish they would cut them to fit. Oh well.

In 1/8 they have molded foam inserts much like touring.
I wonder if that would be a benefit for 1/10th off-road?

I like how the Tamiya Dark Impact comes with nice molded foams, looked almost like they would fit well in the holeshots too.

I usually trim the edges for the 4wd fronts, but like the feel of the larger foam in there. Also, Proline foams (the stock ones) don't last very long, I usually switch them out for Losi's.

Does Trinity make tire foams for the 4wd buggy?

How about some Panther pre-molded ones?

that's odd. I just mounted up a pair of front PL Inside Job's for 1:10 4wd. They included foams that fit the tires no problem.

That's what I did for the fronts that made them feel better and not so rounded.

Thanks for the advice!

There looked to be a batch come out where they put the wrong size foams in the packets. I had two sets from a control tire meet where one set had the normal foams and the other had the big foams

+1 I just started racing in the 4wd class and that's what everyone told me run and they were right. Front and rears both bomb 1's and trim the fronts up nice like described above and you'll be set. Since your running holeshots i assume your running on clay or blue groove.
