for $180 bucks you could spank the sh%# out any other motor around its price range. Even outside of its price range, I've ran this motor and seen it easily compete with more expensive engines, including mods. (Sirio, NovaRossi, etc...)You get good run time so long as the motor is correctly tuned and have the right pipe. Just read the threads, find out who's who and where they race, and then look at their lap times.

The only downside to the JLR may be that your LHS may not carry the picco plugs or exhaust gaskets for it, so you'll have to stock up in advance (same thing for any other picco engine)

Default Red dot

I just started to break my new Red dot in today. The motor cranked up imediately!... I opened the high end up to run rich and ran 3 tanks. The car never died... Idles perfect.. After 5 tanks... I am ready to take it to the track and see how it performs... I will run a few more tanks taking it very easy..

I matched my Red dot with the Skyline pipe. Sounds very mean.. I run sirio and I wanted a back up motor for club races.. I might be switching.. lol

Good luck.

Baasically all 3 engines are the same and anre deigner engines. The picco Red Dot looks a little cooler and it only 180 bucks. They run great before and after modding and are a breeze to break in.

thanks mates!!i'll take your opinions in mind.I have a novarossi plus 3sct,but i want to keep it just for races.i think i'll go for the pico evo 3 just because i like it more and i think according to what i have read that it's easier to find plugs and parts for it.i have found it for 191$usd at RCMART.Thanks

i see...but at the engines spec the JLR claims for 1,6hp and the evo3 claims for 1,4hp.my opinion is that both engines are about the same and are a good choice for a second engine.actually i've read many threads from people who own the Jlr ,not for back up but for the main engine, and they are very satisfied.i am just attracted more to the evo3 picco just because i want to try sth different and it's easier for me to find parts etc..

see the JLR is a modifed evo2 thats why it has more power.

the evo3 is a stock engine just stock picco mods, if Jeffery Lin or Murman got their hands on that engine it would easily produce more power than the JLR .12 "Red-Dot"

also dont buy into numbers on nitro engines they dont mean anything

Thats true , but when your comparing within the same manufacturer most of the time the ratings they give are accurate within each other. So hes probably right to think the jlr is faster if piccos ratings are saying so.

but isnt the JLR rating based off of a tuned engine? not off of a stock evo2? so wouldnt it be a completely different rating
