hey guys i was wondering if any of u brizzy guys no of any spare or old tracks that u racers dont use any more on the south side. because of hobbystations closing down we south side drifters no longer have a place to meet and hold comps. our track we hold comps at atm is trackside rc on the northside so that a bit hard for us without a license to get to. and before u say do it on the street most of us are running touring chassis (mine being a ssg tao5 and a trf 415) so would u drve urs on the street?? so yer any help on locating a drifter freindly track on the southsidewould be great. as its the fastest growing part of the hobby atm at our xmas meet we had 50 drivers so yer we need somwere to do it. theres alot of money in this side of the sport now to so if a club track would share they wouldnt be short changed

set up some cones on netball courts.

we have a average of 25-30 drivers per comp/meet i dont think a netball court is gunna be big enough

well, most netball courts are a pack of 4 or 5. for the mean time you could have small meetings, so at least your having fun. most onroad tracks are only two netball courts.

tru now i need to find one smooth enough if anyone has any other ideas or tracksplease post it up. if its a club track drifters will not mind paying to use it lol

i dont know many clubs that will let u hire the track as the plastic tires leave well plastic behind which makes it slippery.
a net ball court would do fine and most are smoother than our race track (shamefull but true) check out brisbane netball association they have like 8 courts u could run like 8 simutanious comps but yes it would be techinical

the reason were alowed to do it at trackside is because the jeff owner is very fond of drifting being one of our top drifters, lol and because the council cleans the track once a week i think it is removing the residue from us, nitros and foams have left behind . drifting on a track just feel better than ata netball court were we are subjected to kiddies running after the cars, no power for chargers etc..
we are trying very hard to find a driftable tyre material that leavs minimal residue on the track. so polypipe is our best product so far its better than pvc it is a softer compud so the tyres do no spin as much and also providing more grip. but with the level of competion in this genre of rc increasing faster motors are being used so defeating the purpose of it, i myself am guilty using a 8.5 brushless.

Not diagreein coz i dont many tracks but...we hired out a track for dorifto and didnt leave any plastic on the track.....

drive around n check out the carparks texture n stuff....i found a nice place over here in Perth that we could use for drifting...but ur over there in brizzy

is does leave plastic but u cant see it lol yer finding a smooth carpark is lok trying to find a drifter at meakin park. most of us are running 5mm max ride hights so stones and stiks are deadly

I found out that running 3.5mm is deadly..I use spacers now to jack it up to 6mm or so..when I was running it on the dumped setting, i got rocks stuck between the inside of the rim and the suspension arms....so half way through a drift i would just totally spin out.

Meakin Park??? Guessing it is a place where ppl bash their trucks???

oh BTW. if you want to run it real low...like 2mm or less....simply lower the body until it scrapes...it acts like a brush so nothing gets caught underneath....well not very often

my ride hight maxes out at 5mm the curse of the trf lol

hey guys im part of a melbourne drift team and we found the best place for drifting is an underground or above ground parking lot .... one thats smooth concrete style ?

the one we use is at a uni so maybe start from there

p.s it has a power outlet as well so may be perfect and you can create nice big areas for drifting large groups

Nah, just jokes! It was the sand dunes from the off-road track making me drift unintentionally

We have invited you guys down to Bayside a few times now.

Many drifters practice / use our track during the week and we are happy to have some drifiting classes on our nominated club days - we clean the track regulalry anyway.
