Mugen MTX-4
#7321
So, here in Germany is still winter and today it begans to snow. So I decide to start building my MTX-4 for the season 2007.
The production day of the car was June 2006. You find the production day on a sticker which is on the bag of the parts.
What I also found out, that they have changed the belt tensioner. It`s know on the left side. They also changed the inside of the fuel tank.
The only hopup parts I use are the Ti-screws and the front universals. Of course I will also use the rubber belts, because there run smoother than the urethan one.
First, I started to clean the bearings. Just open it, put out all the grease and lubricate it with good bearing oil.
Then I started to built the rear diff. When you built the diff like shown in the manuel, you will noticed, that the "axle" (i´m not sure if its called axle ) has some gap. I put 2x 0.20mm shims between the diff and the "axle", to minimise it.
Before:
After:
As writen before, I removed the s3 o-ring. And like A-I, I use some oil to lubricate the s5 o-ring, before installing. I use the 30.000 mugen oil in the rear diff and the most time at the front a solid axle.
So, that was day 1... ok, not very much, but I have time before I start racing

Hey jaykay,
When you say the belt tensioner is now on the left side what do you mean? I'm also building my kit. I think it's an older version that had been in the hobby shop for a while.
Thanks

Thanks for the quick replies.
So I've got an older version. What else has been upgraded.

Based on what was posted at ProShop Futaba's Web site (Japanese), it appears that only the tank and tensioner plate were changed, as shown above. The updated kit was available in August 2006 in Japan. Same kit part number.
