Hey

OK i have been running the TTR S3 for 2 meetings now.... its pretty much stock tho.... just played with shock oils a little.... Mine seemed to go ok

I think all new kits come with the updated flat chassis conversion which reduces the stiffness of the chassis alot therefore making it more forgiving/easier to drive....

There were 3 TTR's in the A yesterday.... but tim had some clutch drama's :S

the hyper 8 is great.it is pretty cheap and drives a lot like the mugen.i havnt broken anything and the car is very quick.

ulitimately you can win with any of the cars you mentioned it just depends on were you live[which hobby shop is closer]and how much money you want to spend.IMO the hyper 8 is as good a buggy as anything else out there and is a very capable racer

There's only 3 cars for speed, quaility & durability.

In no order

Mugen, Xray, Kyosho.

a hyper 8 from perth is about $615au delivered thats were i got mine.a mugen prospec would be about 1200-1400au from complete hobbies in adelaide and you can pay about 900au for a mugen prospec overseas so if your gonna get the mugen caroilnasrc in america will be the place to get it from

hyper 8 is cosiderably cheaper and the quality is there in the kit it just depends on what you want both cars are good enough to win

not sure about the eb4 s3 price

EB4 S3's are the same price as the Hyper 8's (shop around). Both buggies are excellent.
Mugens are also very good and have some more quality in the parts but IMO they are not worth the price they sell for, their diffs leak as well.

Kyoshos are great but again they are overpriced. Just avoid their RTR buggies. My Inferno is 13 years old and still going strong with mainly original parts.

At the end of the day the buggy makes about 10% difference, the driver makes the rest, a Hyper 7 TQ can beat a buggy 3 times the price with the right setup and skill.

thats a great point you raise, with my hyper 7 i used to just run without giving a thought to set ups
but after i set it up properly i noticed the differnce it made, giving the buggy more cornering ability than i though it had

Hey,

If your after a deal on a TTR S3 head into model flight and ask for Tim or Jamie they will look after you...

I think most of the top cars are pretty much on par... MBX5-R isn't far away from being released... but will be pretty $$$ Any of the K cars will be $$$ and they have a 777-sp2 WC edition coming out soon....

I'd suggest either the TTR or the Hyper.... the TTR cars certainly were quick on the w/e
