Default which buggy for newbie

First off I want to say this is a great site with lots of info for the rc enthusiasts.

I'm getting ready to buy an rtr 1/8 buggy but not sure which one. I've narrowed it down between the Jammin RTR or the Kyosho RTR soon to be released. I've raced a rc10gt for probably 5-7 years so i'm not new to rc but dont want to spend a fortune on a buggy since I have a GT2 on order.

Anyone have pros or cons about either buggy? Thanks

Marcell

Id have to say the sportwerks Turmoil RTR or if your a tight budjet even a Sportwerks Mayham RTR. I recently bought a turmoil and I absolutely love it. The engine pumps out unbelieveable power, its a .26 7-port. The turmoil come with a Spektrum DX2 radio system and decent servos and the Mayham comes with JR radio gear. I think its the best bang for the buck.

Thumbs up Which buggy?

I will chime in with my vote.. I say go either Turmoil or Mayhem RTR's, come built, good price, and run like the devil! I have the mayhem Pro, so I guess I am not objective here, but it makes even a newbie look good on the track so I like it!!!

If your trying to decide beetween a Jammin or a Kyosho, I would go with the Jammin... The motor has already proved itself to be a power plant (for a rtr motor), it handles good, and more people should be able to help you set it up... I would also look into what your lhs stocks for parts and go with a buggy that they supply parts for.

I'm not sure how the Turmoil or others compare to the Jammin or Kyosho that is why I really didnt include them. Mostly what I see and hear about are the Hyper 8, Jammin, Kyosho, and Mugen. I'd really like to get an RTR that is upgradeable to the racer versions later on.

We have a newer, mostly airplane based LHS in the area now but he said he could get me whatever I wanted and the parts in just a few days.

I've been hearing that Associated is coming out with an 8th buggy. Any rumor to that being true?

Thanks folks for the help.

It is true, both Losi and AE are coming out with buggies...about time too . Losi's should be available within 6 weeks, whereas AE's...it has only recently been announced that they are working on one, so at this time, there's really no way to know for sure.I'd bet it won't be out before next spring. But they might also try to capitolize on the coming Christmas season like they did with the MGT 4.6. Lastly, I say, between the two that you chose, the Jammin buggy is the better option.
