No not true at all. I have tried both. OS 1040 SC is way better than the VR12 Plus, in terms of quality and performance. I don't have OS speed tuned. I only have a TZ 3 port. It seems to be that OS 1040 gives more torque and similar top end speed. Also, the craftsman of 1040 is superior than the VR 12 Plus.

Also, I suggest a 5mm 1040 instead of 6mm, if you intend to go to race.

How is your fuel efficiency? What the Skyline pipe may lack compared to the 1040 from OS, it makes up with superior fuel efficiency. I'm pretty sure anyone comparing those pipes back to back will notice more runtime with the Skyline pipe. And the difference in the power band is useless if you can't make 5 min on a full tank.

what abt the mugen/mielke 2501 pipe compared to the vr12+ or the os 2040?
juz curious, cos i bought one of this to pair it with my OSspeed.

wanted to get the OS pipe, but bought the mugen 2501 cos i'm running an mtx4

All steel pipe, eventhough heavier, should theorically be better because resonanse waves more perfect...don't they???

In the past, many years ago we have tryed to make pipes out of different materials-Hardened Al alloys (similar to 7075 T6), Steel, Titanium, Nikel ( billet made on lathe-took long hours to make one) etc and found no difference. I personaly know only one part of hobby where it is required to use pipe from steel or Ti-it is tether cars-AL pipes bending there due to the very high centrfugal forces.
Our friquency is very low for materials make significant difference in performance

What pipe are you currently using which in your experience works out best..... In may case i've found that the best pipe with a nice overall balance and works on almost every engine i've used (Sirio, STS, OS. Novas) is the Mugen Shimo P01002 (efra 2609), just tuning it with different Nova headers (short, medium, long)....

We tryed almost every pipe on market and end up using JP 2620 an Novas 2630. It is depend on driver preferences, but still around these 2 pipes.
BTW using that pipe calculator I found what will be difference between pipes.
