Ok... with the dual ESC's, you would get a servo y adapter to plug both units into the same channel of the RX. Then with the 2 batteries, you hook them in series to each other, positive lead of battery one goes to negative lead of battery two, then the 2 remaining positive and negative leads are hooked to both ESC's in a parallel circuit. I have enclosed a very elementary example of the wiring for a dual ESC setup for a maxx... The yellow leads go to the individual motors... Please excuse the crude pic, I threw it together real quick in mspaint.. hehe It would be helpful if you were to use ESC's that are very easy to program possibly with pc connectivity. You need to have them both set exactly the same for all parameters or you could fry a motor or destroy your drivetrain. As it is, with a dual BL setup like that, you're probably going to need a steel spur and some very strong tranny gears.

I have another question,would it be possible to run a separate battery for each ESC and motor and still split the radio receiver between the 2 ESC's???i know that i need to use lipo batteries, how many mAh should they be and what about the amperage output for the motors??? is it possible to use 1/18 ESC's to save a little space and would it be ok to hookup a mini ESC with a regular sized brushless motor??? what company(s) make these steel spurs and stronger tranny gears??? Robinson Racing Products for the gears... You'd cook a micro ESC in about a half second. The BK Warriors are a decent size and wouldn't be an issue. You could also use the MTroniks units. As far as powering each ESC seperately, I don't see why it would be an issue. But if you're only going to use one battery for each, then it's going to be underpowered. The Orion/Peak units would be fine as well as a lot of the ones on maxamps' website. I posted a link to the maxamps lipos a few posts back.. They have one that's 12000mah.

how would it be underpowered??? so u are saying that if a person just used one ESC and brushless motor, they would use two batteries??? what if i found a way to connect two batteries to one ESC (so a total of four)??? how would you go about doing that??? and is it possibly to fit that many batteries under one truck??? thanks for the help.

having 2 brushless motors is insane enough, so accept the lower runtimes, as a result of a extra motor. you could buy two of the 12000mah lipos, and put em in! lol!

thanks, jonathan, i think. i wasnt complaining about the run times, i was just trying to figure out why 1 lipo battery wouldnt give the ESC and motor enough power to run. can someone please tell me what mAh means??? i know that it usually means more power, but beyond that i dont know. whats the highest mAh battery(s) a guy could use on a brushless motor??? if i got higher mAh batteries, could i get by with one for each ESC??? thanks again for all the help.

mah is milli amp hours. It's the capacity of the cells. More mah means more run time. If you only used one 2s LiPo battery, it would only be 7.4 volts nominal. The E-Maxx is set up to run on 2 packs in series which gives you 14.4(NiCd, NiMH) or 14.8v LiPo. If you get 2 6000mah LiPo packs run in series with a dual brushless setup, you'd probably get 25 to 30 minutes of runtime. If you step up to the 12,000mah packs from maxamps, you'd get bored with the truck before the batts went soft.

id get bored with the truck before the batteries got soft??? what do mean by that??? so the next question, where could i find just a rolling chassis of the emaxx??? im not gonna spend the money on one that has everything that i need, cause most of it would get changed anyway. what brushless motors and ESC's would you guys reccomend?? and also, what battery pack and size would you reccomend??? and what steering servo and radio/receiver??? thanks again for all the help!

I just meant you'd have so much runtime with the 12,000mAh batts that you'd get bored with driving the truck around before the batteries died.

As far as the controllers, these are very good units with an adjustable cutoff so you won't damage the LiPo cells...

For the batteries, you can get away with the maxamps packs in an E-Maxx because they're pretty enclosed and you don't have to worry so much about damaging them. Plus, they're inexpensive comparitively. The 6000mAh 2s pack would be great but if you really want to go nuts, get the 12,000mAh one. It's the 8th one down on the page...
