You must be psychic...
No one has seen either the wasp or the ninja production models running in real life.
How can you tell which one is better?
How can you choose one?

Untill now it's one big hype...or..two big hypes.
We can only tell how they are (reliability wise) a couple of months after they are available in the shops.
After they have endured some tough testing.

This kind of reminds me of those "Mikey" commercials. No one wants to try it until Mikey likes it. I bet "Mikey S." is going to like his Ninja.

What's the likelihood that Team Mugen isn't going to make this engine work for them? Slim to none. GRP is putting a lot on the line by partnering up with Mugen Seiki. When Team Mugen wins several races with the Ninja, everyone can talk all the dirt they want - but the bottom line will be that the engine is a proven winner. But if they can't win (unlikely), it will just become another engine to choose from in the LHS showcase.

Team drivers are team drivers for a reason: They know how to tune and drive anything you hand to them. If they can't win with their own company's products, then it's unlikely that consumers will believe they can win with the company's products.

GRP has been producing on-road "fast tires" ever since the the beginning of mugen seiki line of cars ( MRX, MTX, and the K2-X avance ). Kawahara ( Zac Project) was a product line that offered "up-grades" for mugen seiki cars which was distributed by mugen seiki. So, with GRP " putting a lot on the line ", I don't think GRP has nothing to lose but to go up in production with companies such as mugen seiki.

Mugen Seiki dont put crap with their cars so the ninja must be good or they wouldnt have anything to do with them

My two cents worth is:
The Orion .12 WASP motor I bought new starts hard, hates temps over 190, no factory support, no top end, no bottom end, hard to tune, hard to keep in tune.
Generally not satisfied with this motor. Looking at the TZ.

Wow! Sounds pretty bad. I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems. Have you tried disassembling and reassembling the engine and carburetor? How did you break it in? What type of fuel and glow plug are you using?

You might want to consider creating a new thread, so that some other Wasp owners can offer up some suggestions as to what the problem might be.

OS 12TZ is a good choice. Take a look at the mod versions as well.

That's the old motor.... The Wasp REV motor... The one most RC'ers have been waiting for is still not on the market yet... ie.... Not for sell.

Yes, I know. But he is still having problems, which is a major bummer for anyone.

It has done almost half a gallon. The engine looks pretty promising. There's gonna be a local 1/8th race weekend.. hope the ninja shod mugen will win.
