Default Lipo batteries exploding

just thought id share the experience of the lipo that just went up in flames and destroyed the charger next to it.

this cell was checked only a couple of minutes before it went and was at 10v(11.1v battery)

what brand of battery? this is going to be a problem unless people know how to treat lipo.

as soon as you feel power drop stop using & recharge. the only reason the charger would be to blame if incorrect setting's where used.

let this be a warning to all who intend using lipo.

I was there, and judging by how far the scorch marks were spread it was lucky neither Dangles or Tubby werent actually doing their work nearby.
(Like they work ha ha a ha)

It certainly let the smoke out quick!!!

Cheers

What brand battery was it?

From what i have heard the only decent LiPo battery out at the moment is the Orion Platnum... i was thinking of getting one.

Hope it wasnt one of these. $380 for the one battery is alot of money to have explode

was a lipo 3 cell(11.1v) not the team orion(which use kokam lipo batteries)

story behind the cell customer said wouldnt charge. We put it on a charger and it started charging. Got to just over 10v and this is what happened.

Dont over discharge(stay above 3v per cell)
