Monster Jam

We went ot Monster Jam at Anaheim Stadium last night...second time we've gone. Anyways...just wondering if they do the R/C stuff at all of the MJ events.
OH MAN you should see what they do to those poor things...LOL HPI/HB, AE, Tamiya, CEN all sent people out to do demos beforehand out in the parkinglot and during the breaks between rounds out on the track. Yeah, 10-15 feet in the air, landing on asphalt...sometimes even on the wheels.
I tell you one thing, the HPI guys were beating this Savage like a red-headed stepchild. It took several 10+ foot slams onto the pavement or the bottom of the landing ramp at all angles to finally break it. It looked like one side of the tower broke, but it was fine on power...so he kept jumping it. Eventually, both front wheels were all wanked out and flopping, but still fine when he got on it (almost wheelie time)...so he kept on jumping it. DAMN that thing was tough.
The HPI guys also brought out one of those ATV thingies...VERY cool. I can't even believe that little dude was still on there after all the abuse. Almost makes me want to go buy one.
Oh yeah...if I was the CEN guys, I'd never show my face in public again...LOL...WHEN they could keep the stupid things on four wheels...they had a hard time keeping all four wheels on the pieces of crap. I started to feel sorry for them.
TPhalen was out there representing AE, beating a Monster GT silly...another tough one. I think he just has a tiny bit more respect for the equipment, so I can't tell you if it's as tough as the Savage...LOL...
You should have seen them launching off the Supercross stunt ramps. 10 foot+ ramp, straight up -- straight back down with no landing ramp.
The big monster trucks were cool, too.

Ultimate Hobbies sponsors the deal locally. I tried ot get in, but it's down to a "Manufacturer only" deal. I love my TNX, but I would beat it silly if there were 50,000 people watching me.
Actually...I'd just go buy another RTR...LOL...beat that one silly

Myself and a small group of Guys from our club CRCRC were part off the Monster Jam in Columbus,OH this month, and just let me say if you have a chance to go to one and be in the show its well worth all the broken parts
They were letting us jump off of the same ramp the freestyle MX guys use, 15-20 feet of air was no problem
And we were landing on flat ground and driving away

Just got back from the MJ/Hartford show...awesome time was had. Beatin' my buggy to snot was a blast. Great thing is, nothing broke. Cartwheels, barrel rolls, 30+ FT high jumps, etc etc...took a lickin, kept on tickin. I never got a chance to get pics. We only had 10 minutes at a time to run, and I was running :P. The LHS that sponsored the event for us did get pics and I hope to get some from them. If I can I'll post em up. I do have pics from the monster trucks though. And I hear there's another MJ show coming in my area next month
