anyone have any info on the new Orion SP2 GP3700 cell? i have herd it should stand up to the IB3800s if not be a little better.

The samples that were received in the US as the latest updated super GP3700s have shown to be better than the regular GP3700 but still not up to par with the IB3800s. At 30amps on real TM4s set with .90 cutoff and no voltage trapping the runtime ranged from 430-455 and the voltage 1.19-1.21 with the majority of the cells being in the 1.20 range.

thanks danny. i guess Orion is just trying to find a way to say with the GP cells... they just look like they are beat this round.

hey danny do you know how Orion matches their cells? they always seem to have higher number espsecially back in the 3300s days. cuz if that is case their #s may look like 1.22 on the sticker...

I'm sure they will say that the GP cell is the best and the only cell they will use in racing but the fact is that the cells we have seen don't show that they are as good as the IB3800s.

do you think the release of the 4200s will bring the 3800s down in price 5 bucks or somthing small like that...?

The IB3800 prices will stay the same as it's the most popular cell and it's legal for the big races and ROAR races. The IB4200s are priced a bit higher than the IB3800s and aren't legal so based on this the IB3800s should remain at the same prices.

I have used VTEC 3700s.I was really disapointed,so I bought GP 3700s,and I am very satisfied.
Now I am reading that IB 3800 is better than GP.And 4200 coming soon...
So what is the best battery?How are we going to find out...?

Get yourself some equally priced sticks of each kind and do your own comparison. Everyone has their own opinions. I've been running IBs for a while and really like them. But I never did the pepsi challenge on them with some really good 3700.

I ran two 3700's that were dead shorted for a week and 2 3800's that were not dead shorted and they felt the same...the difference is if you run the packs that were dead shorted a second time that day you lose a little initial snap.

i have some of the first batch of 3700s and they are accually doing quite well
i just dont feel the low end punch and the bit for top end as i did with a 3800 when i tried one
i dont have any 3800s now but looking to get some
my 3700s are 1.185 come pared to the almost 1.22 you can get from 3800s. that is why i think when this new SP2 comes out you will see a pretty leve playing field once again, even though the number might now be there, it will be to which power curve you like best
