It makes it easier and quicker to refuel and work on your car. When the car comes into the pitlane they are at waist height for the pitcrew so they do not have to bend, kneel or squat down to refuel or work on the cars.

Default Track Redevelopment Work

Today the resurfacing of the track was completed.

The track was covered with a modified (10% polymer) BCC type 2 asphalt. Attached are images of the resurfacing.

This weekend we will be framing and profiling the curbs, putting down new turf and installing the tuff track edging system on the corners that require it.

Club members are asked to please attend this Saturday and Sundays working bee's as we really need your help to get the turf done so it has time to grow in over the Christmas break.

Regards Alastair

Hey Al, im on DCs side here.It looks like Dalass hole from the 98 nats final, I was standing right next to him when he flamed out .
I feel it should be preserved as part of Australian racing history.
just a thought

Hi Alex,

I can confirm it is not Dallas's drivers stand hole. His is covered by the QRCCRA sign to the left of the current one in the image The drivers stand is due to be extended after the Pre Worlds so I imagine we can save his piece of history for him that he can hang on his wall if he really wants it.

Cheers Alastair

Poor Dal, if you asked who won the 1/8th Nat's in say 2000 you'd probably get a lot of people just shrug their shoulder and say I don't know.
But if you ask who was that it was that kicked a hole in the drivers stand at Brendale, now everyone knows that.
The infamous Dal Garter!

Default Big Hole

Firstly Dave, Its not my hole.
Alex, I was up the other end of the drivers stand.
Craig your right, who did win the 1998 Nats, who cares, I know it wasnt me.
And Alister, can you save the repaired hole for me if possible, I can place it next to my 1998 NATS TQ Trophy to remind me of that famous historical event.

and the track looks great.
