Default You think that JB WELD IS STRONG ENOUGH

Do you think that JB WELD is strong enough to glue a motor mount back on a engine case ? Do you think it will hold ? have you heard of anyone else doing this ?

ive never done it before but i use jb weld a lot. i dont think it will hold very good though but you can always try. if i were you, i wouldnt even risk it. if that thing breaks while your racing, it will cost a main and even more damage to the car.

your better off sending the engine back to the manufacturer and getting it replaced or have them fix it................you can void your warranty if you try to fix it yourself.

Go ahead and try it, you're already out a case anyway, and any costs to get it fixed/replaced.

This car is not for racing just bashing and it is not under warranty anyway . I remember using this stuff to glue a carb into a motor after I had lost the bolt that held it in ......... guess what it held !! Think i will give it a try . Thanks for your input.

i dont think it will hold because of the heat. i'm sure the heat will soften the bond after awhile.

Hey fellows fired it up and ran it for a while today, it held!! Now mind you it is in a onroad car and it was cold outside I had to wrap the heatsink head so it would get up to operating temps but it held. But just because it worked in cool weather does not mean it would stay togather when it is hot outside so I will have to test it again this summer. Thanks Doomah for the offer but guess what just came in the mail today?? The engine case I have been waiting for.

Jb weld is some strong stuff,,with the jagged edges of the break acting as a rough area for it to bond to, it will work fine.

I've used it to repair cracked diesel engine blocks as well as high pressure hydraulic pumps (pressure side).
