Got some pics at last.

First is a pic of both cars. You can see how much lower the rear diff case sits on the car on the right. Compare the case with the arm mounts to see the difference.

Second pic is steering detail, using mainly Yokomo parts.

Third pic is a side view. You can see how low it all is from this view. The motor is about the highest item in the whole car, and that is actually lower than normal too. 100 tooth spur just doesn't come out the bottom.

We ran the car today. The track was very dusty but we still made some respectable times. Certainly quicker than all others running there today.

We ran 6 packs, simply getting the car back on it's Malta set up after our trip to the Ko Gp, where we had to make a number of changes.

The main difference with this car, compared to the normal one is that because of the much lower C of G it runs much flatter - less roll. It therefore needs less camber change so your roll centre is up slightly - closer to the C of G, which is ideal.

There is still a bit of bump steer, but that's an easy one; just a matter of playing with steering arm angles (shimming).

I know IRS and Hardcore make aluminum outdrives for the TC3/TC4. Is there anyone else? What is the best one to use on a 19 turn motor?

Default Johnbull do you see the...

lower cg as good mod for smooth carpet? Thats all I race. What about the steering rack mod, is there anyway to use the old tc3 rack without having to cut into the upper deck? Thanks for the info...

Default shaft drive vs belt drive

I'm sure this has been discussed before and maybe this isn't the right place, but...

what are the pro's and Con's of the shaft vs the belt drive.

I have heard that belt drive will you a little more top speed,
whats the advantage of the shaft drive? better acceleration?

I'm a newb just trying to figure out what car I want to purchase, so I reseaching all the differen't types out there. I'm going to mainly Carpet Race this winter and was thinking about the TC4... and the Xray and the RDX.... you get the idea, decisions, decisions....

Hi,

Shaft cars seems to be more agressive due to the more direct power input compared to a belt drive!

The acceleration is due this a little faster.
Top speed is higher on a belt drive.

Bye!

My guess is the manual is wrong and the kit comes in 2.5° rear toe in.

or.......?
Anyone?

Shaft Vs Belt

The concensous seems to be.

Shaft lower rolling resistance = more efficient = quicker therefore better for Stock and 19T

But - Shafts introduce gyroscopic effects that apparently have detrimental properties under acceleration and can effect ultimate grip, hence with the very low turn Mods now in use it is said that Belt drives generate more grip and the that the loss in efficiency is negated by the extra power of the motoer.
