Anyways what I was trying to say was I had tuned my truck way too lean because I put it back to factory settings and know I have turned it just a little towards lean and it seems to be just right.
My one way gave out when the truck was moving. How is this possible
and how many teeth does the stock spur gear have for the .25 savage?

The RTR .25 Savage uses the 49t spur gear and the .21 uses the 51t spur gear.

my guess is that maltese is classic xl since all five posts they have were done in retaliation to this thread.. anyway..
the savage is known to eat up one way bearings in the rotostart.. somthing that can help is to keep it clean.. dirt kills bearings..

It's amazing that so many can be "helpful" and yet show their own ignorance. Is there anyone that feels a language barrier could be the problem? Not everyone here is from an english speaking country and those that are should go to a foreign country and try to post there, it would be very interesting to see how they handle being called names !!! This site was originally started to help others and give information on new products, and yet it has been degraded by the lack of communication and the bashing of newbies and those that ask legitmate questions. Maybe if the "moderators" really gave a damn about whats posted the site could be cleaned up and become a premier source of information again. Food for thought(that is if you have a mind to begin with).

Everyone is helpful, but when we can't understand what he's trying to say to us, it's bound to happen. classic xl, the clearer you are with your questions/responses, the better answers you will get for your problem. Now, you're saying you were running your truck and the one way bearing broke off the engine.......... and then you asked what spur gear the Savage has. Which Savage? The RTR .25 Savage has a 49T spur gear and the .21 has the 51T spur gear. Which one way? The one on the Roto-Start? Just trying to understand.. If you're talking about a one-way bearing on the Roto-Start, just replace the bearing. I'm sure there's a bearing for it out there. Hope I could at least be SOMEWHAT helpful. I don't even have a Savage, so I'm doing my best to help.

f he is do you think your insensitive question helps!!!! Are you a jerk???? Amswer to that question would probably be YES!!!
I personally suffer from ADD, which at times can be incredibly frustrating, but I don't complain & I do my best to understand how frustrating this can be to others that have to put up with me.
Incedentaly, should you have spent more time reading the initial question & trying to help him out & less time analysing others comments then maybe he would have got an answer quicker!
You don't know me mate, don't call me an idiot! Don't judge me!

In an attempt to answer the question about the one-way: On the Losi LST, many people have had a problem with the one-way getting gunked up using fuel with a high oil content. Once the one way bearing is taken out, completely cleaned and re-installed, it then works fine. It seemed that most people with this problem were using Blue Thunder fuel. You may try cleaning it. If that works, make sure that you never leave any fuel in the truck, and store it at an angle so that any leftover fuel/oil drains away from the one-way.

I have the same problem with my s-25 one way bearing. I think every engine suffers the same problem sooner or later. One way of sorting it indefinately would be to seal the backplate & the carb asell, if your doing the backplate, you might aswell do the carb. Doesn't mean your one way will last forever, just means that it will stay relatively clean in the short term.

As for your spur. Just be carefull if you go with a stronger or metal one, it's better that your spur strips & leaves your tranny or any other parts in tact, rather than the hardened spur not giving way & passing the brunt of the force onto other more expensive parts.

it should be part of your routine maintainence to clean the oneway.
simple job to remove the starter assembly, wipe shaft with a rag, wash bearing with a little metho, a drop of oil back in the oneway, spin it arond, wipe off excess.....good to go.
