I can't. I have to fly to LA tomorrow and will not be back until next Thursday night. But we do plan on going next Saturday or Sunday.

Hey Guys,
I am planning on cutting my tires tonight and would like to know what size is a good starting point for the front and rear? I was running the tires box stock because they worked real well. But now I need to skim them and square them up.

Different brands have different diameters when new. Parmas are about 52mm and Jaco 55mm for the rears and 47mm front. Can't remember Jaco new front size. I start my rears at 48mm and fronts at 46. Race size is smaller.

What tyres are you using? If you haven't tried already have a go with Frewer silver at the rear and purple at front. I must say I have never encountered that problem at indoor with those tyres. Also check that the pivot balls in the t-bar aren't binding at all and that your diff isn't too tight.

Traditionally for asphalt you run 1.8" front and 1.9" rear. For carpet I run them at 1.75" and 1.85" to start. I use IRS milled lower AE arms (lowered .060") so I can use more of my front tires. With the IRS lower arms you can just about run the front down to the rim and still have decent ride height.

Traction compound would fix this but since you can't use it try some platinum compound rears. They are softer and have more traction than pinks.

What are the other fast guys at your track doing? They would be a better source for help than us as they are racing under the same conditions you are.

how tight is your diff? or how tight it should be? my one is quite tight and you almost can't turn the wheel if you hold the spur and one of the wheel.

i'm using jaco purple front and jaco pink rear. which works quite well at albany.

the tight diff is your problem. It should be just loose enough to not slip when accelerating from a stop. I've never run into any situation where you needed a really tight diff in a 1/12 car.

Front end is very very very (by the way did I say very??) tweak prone. I used to have a switchbade (same front end) and it was a nightmare for me lol.

I never noticed the problem on my switchblade, is it caused by crashing or just regular driving? I just went ahead and ordered a reflex 12 since the cefx doesnt seem like it's going to happen. Hopefully my kit comes with all of the parts included unlike my switchblades lol.

I just get mine from Hobby Direct. Where do you get your jaco tyres from? I can never seem to get enough rear grip at Albany so will give the jaco tyres a try, well when it gets a bit warmer

With the diff I normally just test it on the track, if you hear it slipping just tighten a little and try again

I always hold the two rear tires with my hands and then try to turn the spur with my thumb. If I can turn the spur with some force (not too many) then it's good. This method always worked on all conditions for me.
