I guess we have a bunch of PhD's here in Texas now. Many of the guys that have that motor are figuring out how to tune it and utilize its power. I race against Brandon McNally in a Texas series and once his dad figured it out, he has been ballistic since. He looked very good at the Nationals and held his own.

There isnt a huge on road scene here so i cant really ask around about this stuff.
I see you figured out my point. Ron Atomic got the OS 12tz to spank the JP, Murman, and Hottinger mods at the RD Logics race and that motor is half the price of those. Everyone has their preferences but honestly, all the motors that I mentioned are so close as far as performance, you can't really lose with any of them.

I love the midrange punch of the novarossi's NRS12 RR series motors. JP offers versions of this motor (I've got a standard one... tuned right feels unbelievable) and the Mugen X12 is based on the same motor. For just about any track, this engine will shotgun you out of the corners very well.

I haven't tried the TZ, nor seen one- but I still have good faith in the OS name to think that it would be another great choice. Touring cars love that extra punch out of the corners because just about any motor can spin fast enough to keep up on the top end (given that the tuner has the skills), and the TZ sounds like it might have that great low-end kick I love in my JP.

the Rb v12 is 199.99 at Ace hobbies.......considering the TZ is 229. at tower, thats a steal.....the 3 port turbo RB is only 229.......and contrary to popular belief, the turbo has a different case,a turbo crank and turbo head button.......now THATs a deal....

The Sirio EVO3 hasnt been released all that long yet, so i guess the jury is still out in terms of its durability......no questioning its performance though.

Jye,

I personally own one of most of the motors on my list. But, I also have many onroad cars to use them in. For my local club track, most have way more power than I need for the tracks smaller size. It is a shame that a few of them have been discontinued like the Pixi Black and Mugen X12. I am happy with all of them and will probably add a couple of the newer ones to my motor arsenal soon.

Yeah, i like the look of that pixi black, but towerhobbies still carries them as well as team trinity. Do you know where i can find the new Rossi the R12 X3? It's listed on thier site with 1.7hp for the 3 port. and if its in the price range of the pixi than i think thats a good deal.

dont beleive the advertised HP ratings ever. Unless all the manufacturers tested on the same dyno the results are useless. Ontrack performance...I have seen the new Rossi's run. Not very good at all yet in my opinion compared some of the other noteables.

The engine is the Axe Rossi X3. R12 is the car of Schumacher. Havent seen this engine on track. Although I have seen the black pixi and it has alot of torque and always preserves its compression.

Its your dollar....the benchmark that everything is compared to is still Novarossi.

Sirio is also doing a great job...the others have catching up to do. Its all about personal preferance and available $$$.

OS - still underpowered but the new engine is a big step forward
Mega (Serpent) - Great motor but hard to tune and some conrod issues

I wouldn't venture outside those 4 manufacturers. The Axe Rossi's that I have seen have been very dissapointing compared to the above mentioned. They may get better with Mario Rossi going there but that will take some time.

Yes, but they are very hard to find. You have to do some exhaustive on-line searching and hope that someone still has what you are looking for.
