I own both the automated Ofna (original maker of what CRC sells now) and the Contact V2. The Contact is hard to beat for the money as long as you don't mind cranking the cutter yourself and can live with tires that come off the truer needing a few laps run in before they are ready to race on. I originally purchased the Contact arbor to go with the Contact truer, but it had too much runout for my comfort - you get what you pay for here. I ended up taking my old RC4Less arbor off the Ofna and placing that on the Contact - big improvement. I then wound up finding a new Hudy arbor for the Ofna for a steal and it is THE one to get if you can stomach the price. I've also upgraded the bit on the Ofna with a CRC carbide bit and it cuts so much better and leaves a way nicer finish (ready to run) than the bit included on the Contact. I primarily use the Ofna at home becuase it is larger and heavier and leave the Contact in my pit bag for times when I'm left no other choice but to true tires at the track.

Which ulti tires are most commonly used on CRC black carpet? I normally run blue/green Jaco. But I was curious to try ulti out

What seems to be the better 1/12 scale servo now days? I've used the Futaba bls671sv and switched to the MKS HV50P a year or so ago. Anything better out now?

Default 12th body.

So what’s the go to body for medium grip and long straight with 2 big sweepers and decent tight infield? Currently have the old bitty robox, but looking at trying something new.

id suggest you pick the body based upon speed.

17.5t and slower - Mon-Tech M22
13.5t and faster - Mon-Tech M20
Asphalt - Mon-Tech MT21 or M18

I used to use the Sanwa PGS-HR SXT servo but for now I use the Power HD M8Pro or M8H. Its a better servo for half the price.

M8H: POWER HD M8H Coreless Motor 118.0 oz / 0.065 sec Titanium & Steel Gear Micro Servo - Nitro Hobbies
M8 Pro: POWER HD M8Pro 118.0 oz / 0.058s Titanium & Steel Gear Servo - Nitro Hobbies

jdearhart and simple like this.

What is considered a normal/typical/acceptable falloff for lap times over an 8 minute run? I'm wanting to dial in my setup. My fastest lap was 7.7 sec (small track) I was still able to pull off 8.1 sec in the last few laps. Motor came off at 154*f . Foam tires, not running a fan, 38* can timing and rollout of 102. If I drop a tooth, it'll put me at 100 RO.

Hi,
is there any other setup system for 1/12 except Hudy to be considered as good alternative?
