I caught up with Josh this morning. Excelerate went to support the big drag race in Vegas so he was swamped with that last week. He said F1 kits will be on the site soon. Waiting on confirmation of the last parts ship date.

LOL. I live two miles from Josh and work about a mile from his house, but catching him by text is a little easier these days. And, for the record, I am not an Excelerate employee, nor a team driver so I have zero power in getting kits out. The cars are really good and I'd like to see Josh succeed at this. I have been bugging him to start doing set up videos. What hasn't he tried in RC. There's 30 years of knowledge in his head and we just need him to sit down and get some of that out for us. If he were to publish a book, it would be copied onto the web in no time. Publishing videos to his channel, at least he could get paid by the platforms for all the views.

F1 has been listed for pre-order on the site. https://exceleraterc.com/prodigy-f1-...kit-pre-order/
I heard that there are seven kits that are close to ready now so get your order in if you want to be the first. More parts coming in next week.

Can someone point me to a link or explain how damper blade suspension works? What is providing the "spring rate"?

If you take a look at the manual for the P12, you'll see that the spring rate is provided by traditional pan car side springs.

The damper blades are installed in hollowed out tubes machined into the aluminum chassis, and the damping is achieved with suitable fluid and the rotational movement as the rear pod pivots

Thanks for clarification - I did actually check out the P12 and PWGT manuals (and have also read the A12 manual) but it was incomprehensible to me what was responsible for the pitching spring. I guess the side springs just a lot stiffer than they would be on a traditional link car? My presumption would be that the increase in stiffness required to control pitching would affect roll characteristics negatively (unless grip is crazy high like on carpet) but I'm not an engineer and my intuition is often wrong lol.

The orings on the pivots help with this. There are four different stiffnesses. There is also a bump stop.

Have the spring retainers been updated yet anyone know? So you don’t have to run so much preload on the springs

I heard they were going to make the spring perch screw longer. The WGTR and F1 are supposed to come with the new bump stops, too. I'll let you know on Friday when my WGTR kit gets here.

Looking forward to the new F1 kits! We run outdoors here in Sunny Fla 99% of the time. We run on carpet a few times a year (next race would be Jan 22nd).

Josh testing the F1 today at Thunderdome. He mentions testing for US Indoor Champs. Does that mean he is signed up to race F1? https://www.facebook.com/share/r/15J...ibextid=Mk4v2M

I saw the F1 car at the Thunderdome last week. Without the bump stops, Josh had a lot of preload on the side springs. He had the WGTR car with the bump stops, and it was a lot softer side to side. Later he put the bump stops on and was happier with the car. The bump stops make the cars stiffer front to back, so the side springs can be softer, at least from what I saw.
