Associated B7 vs XRAY Xb2c 2024

In the long run, xray has saved me money. Parts compatability for ages. Parts that simply last longer.
You dont have to buy every single Al upgrade part.

I have both the B7 and '24 xb2 and like them both. i actually ran identical times this past weekend in two different heat races. Time was less than one second. High 96 and 97 consistancy as well. I think it is just preference.

Also what was it the '23 2wd that had the short chassis that stopped before the end of the gear box and then the next year they went back to a full chassis. So yeah gotta build a new kit.
Sure the drive shafts last forever, but dogbone bind (higher friction = higher wear) does effect handling. Yokomo also has long wear drive shafts but team guys were running AE diff and axles for more bind and handling improvements. And then when you bend one in a wreck that the arm breaks you spend 2x the money anyway.

I've got spare cvds, sway bars, diffs, a b c d mounts, pills, complete shocks, center diffs, rear diffs, rear uprights, hubs, etc.
Many parts carry over. Especially in the 1/8th scales. All the above, and a set of short Mugen style rear arms, heck the entire rear assembly. Both of my ebuggies were bought as nitros. Nitro radio tray dates back to 2012. The old ebuggy parts drop right onto the nitro chassis.
I dont bother saving olde bent chassis plates or any other obviously obsolete parts.
I missed the 23 debacle. I don't buy new, every single year like the Momos.
But in the long run, my Xray cars have a lower overall operating cost for the last 15 years than my AE, HB, and Techno cars. I won't run any of those with excess slop, so worn plastic is often the deciding factor.
So yeah, some arms are cheaper. But I aint chewing through arms.
