I’ve been holding off on a purchase like this for awhile but leads me to this next question: a power supply for the charger? Back in my day a wall chargers was all we needed
will simmering like this be okay? My charge needs is 6400mah at 2c, about 20a rounded up.

Hmmmm. My battery balanced out no problem but this other battery is giving me an output connection broken after starting a storage charge. My other 3 batteries read just fine and charged/balanced/storage without error. Ask using the same cables.
is this a bad battery?

Hard to say for sure, try pushing on the balance lead where it goes into the pack, see if you can get the voltage to read temporarily when applying pressure to the balance lead. If this works, then I suspect the wiring may have detached from the internal solder tab.
Many people (myself included) have had success by carefully removing the plastic case and soldering the loose wire back to repair it. If you're not willing to go through that trouble then yeah the battery may need to be replaced
