2wd Solid Axle Monster Buggy
#1
One of my kids matchbox cars gave me an idea. Got an outlaw rampage pro kit from kyosho, proline Baja SCT body and some JC 2.6 monster wheels and tires. Kinda went together easy enough. Had to trim the wheels down to get backspacing to work out.

Can't wait to get it on the track.

Had it all on the track for a few laps. It's nice and light. The tires grip nice on gray carpet. The 13.5 seems a little lacking but I was able to clear most of the jumps. The weak spot is the steering rack and links. I swapped out the 4.8 balls for AE 5.5 balls and cups but still was having ball pops. I'm going to try some captured joints from Traxxas and put a high torque servo saver to give a little bit. But I'm committed to get this to work. Stock turnbuckles are 30mm so I've got to look for something close.
After that I'm a little concerned about the rack and crank arms. They're going to be a little harder to upgrade.

If I could find an aluminum rack about 50mm centers
