I couldn't agree more. All I was saying was that I was against the banning of one-ways, not that they should be manditory.

agreed. we should leave the choice to the driver himself. as some drivers/tracks favour 1-ways and some do not. it should b up to the individual to decide whats best.

just my 2 cents

TO ALL- MO and lil Alex have the best set ups I've seen on these Yok's in a while. Most of you know who Mo is or have been to his website. Hopefully he'll be on this thread sometime today to post the set up for you. We also did body testing last night and here are the reults from fastest to slowest
1) Yok stratus type C
2)trinity reflex asphalt version
3)protoform stratus 2.0

Mo will be able to go into greater detail for you guys if you're interested to know.

My site is www.mo-net.ws. The two setups marked NEW are what I've been running for the last few weeks. They are basically the same, 1 with diffs and the other with 1way. The setup works good with both. I've been running the 1way the last 2 weeks. The only difference from the setup sheet to my car is the front shocks were layed down to the middle hole with the 1way to smooth out the initial steering response and I am in the outter middle camber link position in the front. It has been very easy to drive and very fast and consistant. I have been running Sorex 36R's with Yokomo Firm inserts with track temps from 90 to 150 degrees. In the lower track temps, it just takes 2 practice laps to warm up the tires. I also tested the new SMC 3300's this weekend. They were very good. Good punch and lots of runtime. I ran a 10 turn full out for 7 minutes in practice and I ran that pack 4 times yesterday with very minimal performance loss on the 4th run. As for the bodies, the Yokomo type C had aggressive steering but still had lots of traction. The Trinity Asphalt Stratus had the most traction but a loss of steering. The protoform stratus 2.0 was good but didn't make the car feel as stuck to the track as the others. The lap times during testing were all very close, Yokomo=14.3, Trinity 14.4, Protoform 14.5.

Thanks for the site. I will check it out and see what your setup looks like compared to mine. I run foams at our track but I like to see what you guys are running anyway. I will run rubber tires in a few weeks so this might help out alot down the road.

I like my new SP. It is very very aggressive as compared to my Pro version. I think I might just try the Pro chassis once to see how much this settles my car down and since my car is so light the little extra weight might get me to the weight limit.

My Pro version was absolutely glued at our track with foams. I want to make my car a little less on the edge. I was reading where Barry Baker liked to run the older style chassis because it was a little more settled down.

Thanks
Brian

Hey wyd, can you post your setup for foam tires? We are probably going to be running foams on carpet here this winter and I have never run them before. I'd like to see what kind of setups different people are using for foams. Thanks

When I ran on carpet I ran #2 pistons front and rear with 70wt oil in front and rear. I then used Jaco Purple rear foams and either Jaco double purple front or TRC plaids. I normally run Paragon Ground Effects. All the rear and about 3/16 inch of the inside fronts. You might want to go a little stiffer after you run some practice. It depends on how tight and how much traction you have. I don't use runways so that is up to you and your driving style.

I ran the shocks in the stock mounting positions. Camber links I also ran stock and I used the stock Pro chassis. You might want to try a front swaybar to. I also used 2 degree rear hub carriers.

Foams on carpet are a ton faster than rubber tires on and you car will feel like it is on rail once it is dialed in.

As for tire size the best seems to be from 60mm to 58mm or so. I actually run the best once they are under 60mm or so.

I run a 104 Du-Mor StarForce gear in 64 pitch. I normally run stock with foams so pinion size changes as the tires get smaller. Normally I run a 32 pinion to 36. I run a rollout of 26.75mm to 28mm at our track.

Yes, that is 64 pitch. The largest spur you can fit in 48 pitch is 81.

What rollout do you run. I normally run 26.50 to 28mm. Gearing is from 31 to about 35/104.
