They had the durability (albeit heavy) of the polycarbonate nailed down - the thickness was perfect for taking a beating while I figured out the tuning of my cars....I miss that. The relatively "new-to-the-scene" body developers seem to be more expensive - and simultaneously fragile. I understand that there is a sacrifice for performance vs durability - but I've not been 100% pleased with current offerings.
i'd recommend you check out the multi-time WC and national championship winning body - Mon-Tech M20 - for SS and Mod 1/12th ... its the most popular body right now.

Question about side wall gluing? Do you glue both sides of the wheel front and back? I did hear that you do want to use thin ca. Is this correct? Apparently I am using the wrong search words to find any videos. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Outside only
Do yourself a favor and do not round your tire edges -- it makes sidewall gluing much harder to pull off

For clarity: you only glue the outside of the front tires, not the rear tires.

If you glue side wall of the rear tires .it will allow to less rear traction or side tire bite

Or could use less sauce area. Don’t know, any time I’ve seen someone glue the rears it was a disaster.

What would cause your car just to loop out in turns. Inconsistent. Can run 20 laps and it’s fine then all of a sudden it will just loop out. 17.5 foam car

That sounds like gunk buildup on the chassis or catchy wheel bearings, either fronts or rears, that is if everything else checks out....

What surface are you running on? It could be as simple as too much front compound and the rear compound wears off before the front. Also, check your outside edge of the rear tires to make sure they are in good shape. I have seen too much rounding of the rears cause spins due to the way a spool corners by lifting the inside rear. This is all assuming everything else, like tweak and such are good.

I have seen people use too much steering lock or crack a rim on one side and the rim hits the steering linkage at lock. In the beginning of the run, you may be turning the wheel a little less then going to lock 20 laps in and catching the inside tire. That will loop the car for sure. Also have seen the body get bent or the upper of the front fender crack making the body more flexible up and down - this hitting the wheel while turning, stopping the inside front and looping the car.

Is there going to be a 2022 1/12th scale world championship? I haven't seen anything about the event.
