Default Rotor storage

How are you guys storing spare rotors?

In their factory packaging, they seems to want to stick to anything metallic in the area. I'm assuming that just throwing them in a box isn't the best idea long term.

If you're a cheapass and don't mind DIYing it. Get a yoga block, cut it in half and put rotor sized holes in it. Now you have one rotor storage container and one car stand.

If you're a cheapass, check!

and don't mind DIYing it. check!

How far apart do you space them? I'm really thinking of printing a box for them, just curious on the details.

I just eyeballed it at ~2 fingers in between. But I don't have a ton of them to store.
Looking at existing solutions the Trinity box puts them right next to another which is a bit sketchy, the jconcepts box has them about a thumb apart.

Trinity rotors come in this container.

Doug T and Xrayray like this.

Rotors are permanent magnets. Store them in packaging it came from, in your workbench, or wooden box.

I just stick them together in a plastic bag and toss in my bag (if it came in those rubber cases I use those)...

At least to my knowledge, they aren't going to demagnetize being next to each other

Interesting, their storage solution for multiple rotors isn't nearly as safe: https://www.teamtrinity.com/MotoSafe...ase_p_543.html

heat and internal fractures to the magnetic material cause magnetic force loss. exposure to other magnetic fields can cause a force loss. its all kind of knit picky though.

Found this article after reading what Bry195 wrote. Pretty interesting and worth a read. Turns out being in a magnetic field slowly demagnetizes them, although according to this, the modern neodymium magnets don't really have that as a major issue. As for me, I will still keep them all stuck together because why not and even if they are in a rotor case, they are still going to end up next to each other.

Do magnets ever lose their magnetism?.
