Default Electronics for Mod 1/10 scale

So after getting out of racing for a few years (and never getting into 1/10 scale stuff even when I did race) I’ve decided to get a 2wd sct, stadium truck, and 2wd buggy(4wd buggy is going to be ordered soon too). I talked to a couple guys from my local track and it seems mod is a little more popular then stock. So my question is what’s the go to for mod esc/motors? I always ran Tekin in my 1/8 stuff and had good luck. Now it seems like a lot of the other stuff is close in price to Tekin and stuff like hobbywing seems to be more popular. Does it matter as much in mod? Are some of these newer brand good? Maclan? Performa? R1 wursts? I know everyone has personal preferences but just wondering if there’s a clear best nowadays

I'm a fan of HobbyWing myself, but if you need the extra features that Tekin offers such as current limiter and data logger, then extra cost for Tekin may be worth it for you, more of my thoughts here:
Which electronics are best?

Pro Performance Rc if you want the true best servos and esc’s available. Check out their Facebook page. I tried Maclan last summer and some things were good some not so good. Performa is relabeled sinking ship Orion,I tried an HMX esc and was not impressed at all

Tekin has one of the best brakes. I've run my losi 5.0elite set up for carpet (mod) with Tekin rs pro black and Maclan Mmax pro. Power delivery is great on both, I would have to give the brakes to Tekin though. Watching some vids on youtube will show you graphs on comparable escs. Having the stronger brakes allowed me to brake just a hair later with the Tekin.
