I did say WAS. As the original burnt to the ground on an episode of Top Gear. And the Venom is legal, only the concept/preproduction is currently known to exist as nothing has yet to come off the “production” line yet. And even when it/if it is produced, they only plan to make 24. Doesn’t sound like much more than a concept to me that a is just getting paid for by an elite group.
And while I know it’s not on the list, and I would never presume to be able to race it at National level events. You’re going to tell me it’s any different than the j-zero (my next body on deck), p-zero(have ran it in the past), PFM-10(ran it when it was released), PF Vittoria, or the Zoodiac? Hell this thing weighs in at 110g, a good 15-20g heavier than most of those.
For club racing, it fits right in and adds to cool factor of the class.

GT cars are Castrol Supra, c6 Vette, Viper, 911, etc. You know , starting grid in GT class at LeMans.

Anyone running the A800s for USGT?
I'm thinking of getting into USGT and thought I may look out for a couple of lightly used A800s (one for me and one for my son). Local track, Nor-Cal hobbies is outdoor, asphalt. Any thoughts? How have parts supply been over the years? Is this a reasonably solid car to maintain? Which particular A800 kit would be better (I see there are a few variations).
I come from the buggy world (clay, carpet), and have raced Losi, Associated, Kyosho and Yokomo.
I want to try some onroad so I thought I'd look for a good deal on quality cars. I'll probably consider Awesomatix, Xray and Yokomo, though I guess I could always go cheap with Sakura, etc.
Just thought I might be better off going quality brand lightly used, and always thought the Awesomatix setup of not using shock oils looked kind of different and could be fun to run.
Whatever I buy, I may also run for VTA in case that's a consideration.
Input appreciated.

Careful that the board barriers will not move at the track. The Awesomatix is more susceptible to setup changes if you hit the boards, more so than other cars. If you stay off it, you won't have problems. The car also requires a little more advanced setup skill, due to the number of adjustments.
Otherwise, you can't go with a Xray T4 or something similar. Fairly solid/durable car, little less of a headache. I think the Awesomatix has a slight edge in handling though if you sort it out just right.

Never heard of the guy, somebody named Alexander Hagberg.
Oops, sorry this was for Mod, not USGT. A couple of guys from my area did pretty well in USGT, Jonathan Lee and Dave Zorn. Jonathan and Dave both ran A800's.
