well, I’ve heard some people like to run 50/60wt oil for bigger or high traction tracks. Guys at my track (shorter/clay) like 30wt. Not sure if you could do this, but I use a set of Rustler springs all around.

Jr: The rules state any 2S Lipo is allowed.

Razer: I was hoping you would respond after seeing you had an account here. I subscribed to your channel and have watched many of your videos. In fact, my base setup is a blend of yours and Slayden’s set up. You’re the only person I’ve found that likes the front shocks lower position in the outer hole like me. Do you think the VXL will handle the Protec Lipo I’ve picked out? Also, I liked your video on the Futaba 3PV. Have you been able to get your hands on a 4PV. I would love to know the differences between the 2 other than it’s a higher end transmitter, bigger screen, and more stuff. I want to know what the more stuff is and not the obvious.

- Stock tires and wheels. Must have razor blade at minimum height tread across the tire.
- Stock electronics except can use different transmitter and receiver.
- Stock Body (Can be one that comes with truck or direct replacement custom painted)
- Any 2s lipo
- Traxxas Aluminum shock caps permitted
- Traxxas Aluminum caster blocks permitted
- Traxxas Aluminum rear hubs permitted
- Tire sauce permitted
- Any servo map price of $50 or cheaper is allowed. Must be able to show advertised price online or in store.
All replacement parts must be replaced with stock OEM Traxxas parts. If they are not then the vehicle is illegal. We want the racers to police themselves. If you see someone using something they should not be then say something to them,. It is meant to be an entry level class to get racers into the hobby. Come have fun. That is what this class is all about.

With this info, I plan on upgrading the aluminum parts, getting a better transmitter and servo, and using a ProTek R/C 2S 120C Graphene + HV LCG 6100mAh LiPo Battery. With the information I’ve learned over the past few weeks, I think I’ll be ok with the battery but is there anything else I can do, other than practice, to get more out of the truck?
50wt Associated oil front and rear shocks.
Use Tamiya 53439 AW grease on the diff gears.
Better quality pinion gear.
Stock servo is OK, get a Kimbrough servo saver for it.
Keep the motor clean and the bushings lubed

Never mind. Thought I found a positive answer for you. It was wrong. This won’t fit the stock trans.

I strongly suggest against doing a Slash 2WD race build, but if you're stubborn... here is your answer.

I’ll take it off your hands. Lol.

Seriously though, build it as per instructions and work from there. Experience and endless, tedious hours of tuning and reading forum posts will take care of the rest.
