Another awesome benefit, from a basher/casual racer, is that you can parallel charge many packs at once. With a board like this:
https://www.readymaderc.com/products...signature-line
An iCharger 4010duo that can do 40 amps per side can charge 8 - 5000mah packs in 30 min. 4 packs on each side of the charger, using two parallel boards.
So you have 4 batteries charging at 40 amps which is about 2C if they are 5000mah packs. Each battery getting 10 amps.
Of course you can do 10 batteries per side at a lower charge rate too.
I charge all my packs while I pack up for the track, then when I get home I can stick all the discharged packs on one side of the charger together and put them at storage voltage.
The other side of the charger can be used to discharge any packs you didn't use down to storage voltage.

I was intrested in getting a s6 or x6. But the max input amps is only rated at 35 amps? My power supply I have used with many chargers is 950 watts ,13.4 dv 55amps. An I missing something. Has anyone used such a power supply with those chargers. Hate to get 1 and blow it right away. Thanks

We use ours on 60 amps power supplies all the time.

Hey guys. I got my icharger x6. I am really liking it. It was kinda fun checking all my packs irs and watching how discharging and charging was effecting my ir readings. I kinda want to try parallel charging with it. I race 13.5 and 17.5. Burn about 1200 and 1900 ish out of 6000mah packs. I know some of the basics. Same cell count, they kinda need to be around same voltage and mah total close. Any advice on parallel boards and such. Huge thanks. Update. I used my charger tonight at race. It charged the batterys so much faster than my old charger. I do not think parallel charging is necessary. Thanks

the 406 only gets you 80 watts of discharge power. Still pretty good. Good for about 10 amps of discharge power.

The 4010 does about 16-18a discharge on a 2s pack at full tilt. The amps start off at about 16a on a full pack and as the voltage goes down it ramps up to 17 and then 18a near the end. Thats the Wattage limit increasing amps as voltage lowers.
Its very effective and most of the time it makes it good enough for a club race and you don't need your external 40a resistor bank.

You set the charger up to let you discharge one battery into the second battery that is charging and you can use the full discharge current available to the individual channel for the 4010 (idk what it is off the top of my head as I have a 406 as you can see). Here you can see my 406 discharging one battery at 39.8A while charging the other at 35A. Additionally, because this is a setting in the discharge parameters you can charge and discharge on either channel. Instead of selecting the "resistor or bulbs" setting, select "charge battery" instead. You start the discharge first, and the charger will wait for you to start charging on the other channel. This is what makes a dual channel charger so much better than two single chargers. Well, that and the ability to cycle batteries without having to disconnect anything or touch the charger mid-cycle.
