I think AE got a bad batch of bearings. I've never had issues with them in my buggy. Bought a new truggy and had to replace every bearing after two packs. Replaced them with Avid bearings and haven't had any more problems.

It must be a bad batch because i just changed my wheel bearings after a year and around 100 packs. They were rough but non of them seized.

that's exactly what I did. After looking at the lap counter, I was way off, don't know what I was thinking. It was 276 laps for my 1st post, and 104 laps for my 2nd post that included the diff bearings.

One of the diff bearings seized up nice and tight.Think I might need a ring gear and pinion in the rear as well now

About to order these Avids in a bit.

Just ordered one of these. Kind of surprised that there isn't much online about them. I chose this one over the Tekno, just because it was a newer platform. Anyone have any build / set-up tips before I get going? And how do you like it? I hope I didn't make the wrong choice lol.

Watch the bearing closely for a few packs. A few of us have had issues with the bearing failing almost immediately. I think AE got a bad batch. Rear diff must be shimmed tight or you will kill the rear pinion gear in short order. The kit setup is a great starting point.

Awesome, thanks for the input. I assume ASC81381 will do the trick? Do you do each side or just the side that slides the mesh tighter?

I'll keep an eye on the bearings also.

Every kit will be slightly different. You could end up with shims on both sides, or just on the gear side. On the front diff, shim it like normal to where you end up with slight play between the ring and pinion when it is assembled in the car. On the rear, shim it tight. No play. You might also need to put a shim behind the pinion to push it a little closer to the ring gear. I used KYO96644 for that. One shim between the pinion and the bearing.

I had quite a few bearings fail on me on 2 seperate test days. Waiting on my delivery of bearings from J&T.

Mugen Front Springs and HB Orange rears make this truck come alive.

I run the Protek 170SBL. Takes a bit of dremel work on the mount because of where the servo lead comes out of the case but it is a beast. I won't run a servo with less than 450oz of torque in a truggy.

Favorite car in my collection no doubt, I built it to bash rather than race. Does awesome. Out lasts both slashes my friend has. He will literally run one, break it, run the next, and break it and I’m still over here launching off 10 foot jumps and nose diving into the ground because I got a phone call. Such an amazing car seriously can’t go wrong. I am interested to try teknos 1/8 truggy soon tho. Gotta find a used one for trade maybe. Getting out of my traxxas cars, just don’t run them since I got my RC8.

Ok so if anyone watched the AMain manufacturers cup, how the heck do I get this truggy to rotate like that? Mine just kinda either plows slightly or whips the rear out

Just started racing my t3E again. Either my old springs are wore out(truck was stored with spring adjusters loosened to shock cap) or they never were long enough. I had them adjusted as far as you can go and barely got 43mm rear ride height. I forget if there the hb orange or black mugen springs or maybe newer ae springs. I noticed guys at the track had silver colored springs so I'm assuming they were mugens. I'm just wondering which rear springs you guys like for the truck, Thanks
