Wanted to add that I've just started running this reciver with my Exzes-X and it's been spot on so far. Seems to be a good value alternative to the genuine ones. I will say though I'm not using it with a Sanwa servo or telemetry at this time just as a basic reciver.

That is good to know. We will be doing something similar with an MT-S and some non Sanwa Servos.

Looking forward to how it fares in 1/8 IC Onroad

FYI guys we are getting the new HobbyStar L-shaped receivers in soon, as well as a Futaba compatible unit... We've been selling these for a couple months now and so far we have had nothing but excellent feedback on them.

I just ordered a 'SkyArea' brand L-shaped Sanwa receiver from AliExpress since no one on these shores had them in stock. Looks to be the same thing. Excited to see how it works out.

Perfect timing to discover this thread! I'm reviving my TC4 and need another receiver to go with my MT44. The HRX-472 will be perfect for a budget build.

They look to be the same case molding, and instructions, as the SMD SRX2 the 1/8 IC Fan and myself have.Hopefully this means they have the same PCB's inside becuase they seem to work really well. Thanks fpr bringing the SkyArea ones to our attenetion too

Hopefully this causes Sanwa to drop the prices on their official receivers. I'd prefer running the real stuff, but $99 for a receiver is ludicrous!

I agree that between $70 and $100 is a lot for a receiver. However, I knew when I bought a Sanwa transmitter that I was paying for a premium product. Therefore, I accepted that expense. I think that we also forget that the features offered by our Sanwa radios are pretty impressive. The speed, telemetry, and connectivity/programmability with our ESC's and servos all come at a cost. The processor in the receiver has to be more powerful and therefore more costly. Maybe there are, but I don't know of any other radios that offer this many advanced features.

I'm wondering now, having written this, if these budget receivers still allow us to make use of the advanced features?
