Default Motor was smoking

I connected a used rx that i bought to an existing setup to test it and my motor began smoking and esc got hot. I checked all of the solder joints none are contacting each other. I reacently put new wires on the esc and motor. Any suggestions?

Look real closely between each of the terminals on the ESC and motor. My guess is you have a small amount of solder that is bridging terminals. Bad news is you probably fried one or both of them.
