Are the cvds still made like toothpicks? Other than blowing out the rear hub bearings a few times I keep bending cvds. I even went with the thick a arms and still bend the cvds.

Same CVD’s. They are thin, but I have not had a problem with mine. Maybe a TBR bumper would help if you haven’t done that yet?

That's weird. What tires are you running? Does the chassis hit before the suspension bottoms out? What else would cause them to bend?

The new buggy looks great!!!

I'm running knockoff 1/10 buggy Badlands on the stock wheels. And yes the chassis bottoms out before the suspension.

I'm running the T Bone Racing bumper and rear skid plate.

what savox servo model is that exactly and how did you fit it to the stock mounts? (redrilled a hole, etc).

When I talked to LC Racing direct, there rep said that the new a-arms are supposed to help with the cvds bending as they feel its the flex of the a-arms causing the bending.

Me personally I think they should do both the a-arm fix and go with a thicker bone like the dog bones and how thick those are. We noticed more bending on the truggies than the buggies though when running the truggy sized tires.

They are probably right then.

Yup never bent any on my swb but the truggy after a bash the fronts are always bent. I'm even contemplating switching out to all dog bones to alleviate this issue.

While I’m waiting on my other car to sell so I can trick out the LC12 the way I want it, I thought I’d throw in the electronics from that car in to the new one to give it a little test run. Fortunately the wires were just the right length to mount it up like you see.

Initial impression: HOLY GRIP!! Even on wet roads and with the rally tires that are essentially slicks now, it was much more planted in the rear. While with the old car I would have been drifting and sliding all over the place, this was much different. It was very difficult to get the back end to break loose. Maybe too difficult. Probably need to play with upping the front diff oil. Running 7/7 now but the consensus seems to be about 7 or 8 and 10 in front.

Overall I have to say it’s living up to the hype. Mr. U, you really designed a great car. LC owes you a big debt of gratitude.

It’s the truggy motor and the same 10BL60 SD I had in the other car. I just removed the fan on the ESC to get it lower profile. Even with a 20t pinion and a small amount of timing temps are still really good. Need to get a temp gun to check it propeprly though.

Nope, It was a center mounted slipper from the get go. Look up Mr. Unlimited's posts about his original DIY car and you'll see a few mentions about it.

Why you want a third diff? I don't think the drivetrain will last long and wear out rapidly or destroys it. 1/8 nitro buggy uses a third gear but that is because they use a clutchbell which acts the same way a slipperclutch. Therefor major brands like Kyosho, PR-Racing still uses a slipper clutch in their 10th scale buggy's while Team Associated uses a fluid filled 3rd geardiff. Both have their pros and cons but in my design I have chosen to use a slipper to protect the drivetrain. Maybe in the near future Ill look for a possibilty to mount a third diff but it will not be a gear diff. Maybe a balldiff because that also has some slip for a the massive power of todays brushless motors.

I had to drill new holes but I am waiting until march when LC Racing will have a floating servo mount. I am still waiting for my new esc and I am replacing the standard turnbuckles with titanium ones from 3Racing with RPM ball ends.

Just some better shots taken with a real camera. Made a spur gear cover from the one that came with the LWB carbon brace. You could just as easily hack the stock plastic brace on the long or short version and make one that way too. Maybe LC will be persuaded to make this part available with the correct hole spacing for the LC12. Not sure why this was overlooked as something they included with the kit.
