Some other info:
When car was built used all 4 of the Small bevel gears in rear diff.
Is this correct?
What diameter of tire should we be using?
Come on R40 experts give us some help.
I run Haras setup on almost every track I run on and it is never really loose. How much driving experience do you have? Is the track dusty and slippery or has decent grip? Are you wrenching on the throttle or easing it on? Where does the clutch kick in?

I run on a concrete track with rubber tires and with correct driving technique you can run really damn fast, but you could consider the car to be loose. You need to drive the car in these conditions.

Any smallblock .12 5 port, .15 BB, or .21 is illegal for nitro sedan, unless it's the outlaw class. Only .12 3 port/3 port turbo's are legal. The .18TZ will be great, but gear the car up, because it has ton of power down low. That will have you spinning out often. Remember it's pushing 2hp@32,500rpm and when upto 40,000rpm it still maintains well over 1HP. As for this engine in an offroad, only in a Monstertruck. If you try this in an stadium truck you'd hardly be able to drive it unless you find the tallest gear ratio available for the car.

Klander-Decision is today. My options are:

Get Rody V12 turbo($320 flat)
Get NS12 S5($269.99..maybe get a discount)
Order NS12 S3($230 or so)
Order V12 3 port ($209)

I have had a few of those motors below:

NS12 pretty fast motor, fairly cheap and reliable.

RB V12 very nice motor, slightly lacks top end compared to NS12.

Rody V12 damn fast motor, better than NS12.

Best motor I have run on a long track is my Sirio WCR motor with included pipe. Dudes with JPs and all sorts of killer motors were saying how fast my motor was, and it was the first time i could line somebody up on the straight and pretty much pass them at will.

Has anyone run an OS TR on the R40? Just curious. I am wondering if it will be underpowered since the R40 is a heavier car than the NTC3 I was running the TRs on.

JT6- that last reply was for HARK
so you already have the OS tr, is this the .12 5 port version? that one seems ok to start with... IT hits 30,000 RPM and goes to
1.3 BHP, the only problem is that if you are seriously thinking of racing, you'll need a 3 port engine, 5 port engines are ilegal ok.

No, they are the 3 port version. I have been racing them with the NTC3 and had plenty of power for that car.
