You might wanna hold off until Futaba gets their own US distribution center up and running, which if the buzz is true, might only be a matter of weeks. I’d only grab an MX-V if you can find one cheap. Now that the MX6 is out, dealers might be looking to clear out old stock.

Nick Maxwell is trying to get Futaba USA operational any day now:

As far as budget systems go, Radiolink isn't half bad, I keep one in my pit box at all times to have as a back up and loaner, kinda lacks on ergos but electronics are very reliable for club racing:

I have Sanwa MT4S and my son uses Futaba 3PV. We also have a few other budget radios. The Sanwa is obviously out of that price range, but I really like the 3PV. It has all the features you need. My only complaints are the menu is a bit of a pain as you have to cycle through every option rather than having sub-menus. Not a major issue because once its set up you don't really need to change it much. The other is that it could be a bit small for people with bigger hands. I find it fine but do know people who struggle with it. Otherwise build quality, performance, ease of use is all great.

I would vote against Sanwa purely based on the price of receivers, the cheapest Sanwa rx is the same price as the most expensive Futaba, or around 30% more expensive which makes a difference when you're setting up multipe cars.

I would go with the Futaba 3pv for that price.
