Thicker center rear driveshaft for truggy chassis

This is the steel Arrma driveshaft (AR310470) which is 5mm thick vs the Tekno at 3.5mm. The pin to pin is 82mm vs 85mm on the Tekno. This will allow even further free play in the outdrives during extreme chassis flex.

The pin is all the way to the right in this photo.

0verkill, great find and idea with the Aarma rear shaft in there. Looks like a perfect fit and super beefy!

First I want to say how much I appreciate this thread Overkill....it awesome and much appreciated especially knowing the time it took to document everything. It really helps a newb like me. This thread and your videos are THE reason I have wanted an ET so badly. The videos are just awesome and sold me on it.

I'm going to be starting an ET48.3 build (first build ever) here really soon...should be out for delivery tomorrow. Is the Thunder Power you used part number TPM-18A? Sorry I would post a link but I think it's against the rules?

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't own anything from Thunder Power? You can post a link.

It doesn't have fancy anodizing and other fluff but I guarantee you this motor will outperform most anything out there. Cordova and Neu are the best of the best. Generally speaking the heavier the motor the better performance it's going to have. Which usually means it has more copper wire inside. Cordova is well known for putting the maximum amount of copper wire that can physically fit inside the can. For example, my TP4070 is the same exact dimension at 40x102mm but it weighs 585g, that's quite a bit of air in there. Look forward to running this one.
1st of all amazing thread!

Just wanted to clarify the cordova motor dimensions.

They list it as a 1440, so 1.4' wide, which translates to about 36mm, and you've stated that its 40.xmm?

If that's the OD (40mm can you confirm) of the motor can, do you think they classify that (36mm) measurement as the ID of the can?

Does the TP 4070 1440kv run hot or not, I am soon going to mount one in my savage XL and I am not quite sure what pinion to use. I have the 48t spur and 6.65 inch tires. I am thinking about a 16t pinion.

No, the bigger the motor the better.

Ok I finally made up my mind between the et48.3 and mt410 and got me an et48.3 coming

I’m really considering getting the mt410 shock towers and body mounts and bumpers to turn mine into a monster truck without just throwing big tires on it.

Being that I’m using a Tekin RX8 gen3 what’s the minimum and max motor I could use?

Although I have trenchers x’s I might go shockwaves instead since I do hit the pavement a lot.

Or another set of terrain crushers.

Also should I scratch the rx8 fan and go after a r1 fan like you did??

And one more million questions should I stay light on the diff weight or do a 50/200/30
Or aggressive like I did my lst 200/500/100

Sorry for all the questions

What would buying the MT410 shock tower do? It seems to me that the ET48 towers have multiple different mounting positions for the shocks. Maybe I'm missing something?

Looks good Chainsaw! I've been following your builds since the Mt4/Wondertiger days! Your one of the OG convert a Truggy or buggy to monster truck guys. Back in the day you would take a 1/8 buggy and make it a monster truck which today would be the equivalent of the MT410 or Outcast. Or you would take a truggy and make it a monster truck which is just longer and wider than the converted buggy, but still the same basic vehicle.

The 48 and 410 towers are different I did notice that but only on bolt holes
Unless formed different
And the mt410 body mounts don’t bolt on the 48’s?

The email I got was answered with these part number

If you would like to convert an ET48.3 into a MT410 then you would need the following parts:

TKR5028
TKR5029
TKR5518C
TKR5799
TKR5791
TKR5071C
TKR5527 or TKR8027

An MT body, wheels, and tires.

You may need some assorted hardware for the Bumpers and body mounts as well. Please refer to the MT410 instruction manual for reference.

Hope this helps!
